Acceptance of terms

By downloading, accessing, or using Lotus Chant, lotuschant.app, or related services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app or website.

What Lotus Chant provides

Lotus Chant is a personal practice companion for chanting, Gongyo, Daimoku, reminders, daily phrase content, widgets, Live Activities, and related learning resources. The app is designed for personal devotional and educational use only.

Eligibility and app store terms

You are responsible for using Lotus Chant in compliance with applicable laws and the Apple App Store or Google Play terms that apply to your device. If you are not old enough to enter into these terms or make purchases in your jurisdiction, you may use Lotus Chant only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

Personal license

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Lotus Chant for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, resell, redistribute, sublicense, modify, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the source code, audio, or premium assets except where the law expressly allows it.

Content and religious resources

Gongyo text, silent prayers, daily phrases, audio, links, and related materials are provided to support personal practice and learning. We work to keep this content useful and accurate, but Lotus Chant is not an official publication of, or endorsed by, any religious organization. Third-party content remains the property of its respective owners.

Subscriptions and purchases

Lotus Chant may offer paid access to Lotus+ features, including premium audio packs, Gongyo playback speed controls, practice history, and Tap to Hear pronunciation tools. Available plans, prices, free trials, renewal periods, taxes, and billing terms are shown in the app store purchase flow before you buy.

Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play and validated with RevenueCat. Recurring subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through your Apple or Google account before the renewal deadline set by that store. We cannot cancel subscriptions or issue store refunds directly except where required by law; refund requests must be handled through the store where the purchase was made.

A lifetime purchase provides access to the purchased Lotus+ features for as long as Lotus Chant and those features are made available and supported. We may add, remove, rename, or change premium features over time, but we will not intentionally remove paid access without a valid operational, legal, security, or platform reason.

Premium audio packs

Premium gong sounds are licensed for use inside Lotus Chant only. Active Lotus+ access may be required before the app can download or play premium sounds. Download links are temporary, cached audio files may be removed by the operating system, and you may not share, upload, sell, or reuse premium audio outside the app.

Privacy and local data

Lotus Chant does not require an account. Most practice data and app settings are stored locally on your device, including preferences, reminder settings, onboarding status, and practice history. Some app and website features require network requests or browser storage, such as daily phrase content, analytics, app updates, contact messages, purchase validation, premium audio downloads, and language or theme preferences. Notifications, widgets, and device features

Reminders, haptics, audio playback, widgets, quick actions, and iOS Live Activities depend on your device settings, operating system, and permissions. Local reminders may not arrive at the exact requested time, and system features may behave differently across devices or platform versions.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use Lotus Chant for unlawful, harmful, abusive, or commercial resale purposes;
• interfere with, overload, scrape, or bypass the app, website, APIs, rate limits, or entitlement checks;
• share temporary premium audio URLs or attempt to access paid content without an active entitlement;
• misrepresent Lotus Chant as an official publication or service of any religious organization;
• submit malicious, misleading, or infringing content through contact or support channels.

Third-party services and links

Lotus Chant may rely on third-party services for app distribution, in-app purchases, subscription validation, analytics, app updates, email delivery, content retrieval, translation, image generation, and file hosting. The app and website may also link to external Buddhist, Soka, SGI, or Nichiren resources. We are not responsible for third-party services, websites, content, outages, billing systems, or privacy practices.

Availability and updates

We aim to keep Lotus Chant useful, available, and up to date, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service, permanent availability of every feature, or compatibility with every device or operating system. We may release updates, fix issues, change features, restrict abusive access, or discontinue parts of the app or website at any time.

Disclaimers

Lotus Chant is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, accurate, or suitable for your particular practice, device, expectations, or spiritual needs.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lotus Chant and its creator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, purchases, profits, goodwill, or access arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app, website, content, subscriptions, or third-party services.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to Lotus Chant features if we reasonably believe you violated these terms, attempted to bypass paid access, abused our services, created security risk, or used the app or website unlawfully. You may stop using Lotus Chant at any time by deleting the app or leaving the website.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of Lotus Chant after changes become available means you accept the updated terms.
